Honolulu Beach Weddings
Honolulu beach weddings
The city of Honolulu, which includes the district of Waikiki, one of the top tourist destinations in the world, is a fairly large metropolitan city. For couples interested in a Honolulu beach wedding or vow renewal ceremony, there are some great options for their Hawaii beach wedding or vow renewal.
A Honolulu beach wedding, of course, is first of all, very convenient for visitors staying in Waikiki or the Honolulu metropolitan area. In fact, the number one beach wedding location in all of Hawaii, which makes it also one of the most popular beach wedding sites in the world, is Magic Island. Now Magic Island is not actually an island but a peninsula located on the Waikiki end of Ala Moana beach park, one of the largest beach parks in Hawaii. Magic Island lies adjacent to the Ala Wai harbor and beach weddings at Magic Island are usually conducted towards the end of the peninsula in wide grassy area with palm trees, alongside the harbor. This site provides a panoramic view of the Waikiki coast line with Diamond Head crater prominently featured as the back drop. Lots of parking and proximity to Waikiki adds to the convenience of this beach wedding location. A lagoon at the end of Magic Island also provides the option of an on the sand, toes in the water, beach wedding.
Another very popular Honolulu beach wedding site lies just across the harbor from Magic Island. Duke Kahanamoku beach is located in front of the world famous Hilton Lagoon which is adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort. Duke Kahanamoku beach is at the very end on the northernmost side of Waikiki beach and weddings and vow renewals there are done right on the sand next to the outriggers that are parked there. This great beach wedding or vow renewal is also within walking distance of many Waikiki hotels and just a short 5-10 minute drive from those that are further out. Like Magic Island, Duke Kahanamoku beach offers the opportunity for amazing sunsets most days of the year.
Last, but certainly not least, in the choice of locations for a beach wedding in Honolulu, is Waialae beach. Waialae is the second most popular Hawaii wedding spot, after Magic Island. The southernmost side of Waialae is our preferred site for our gala beach wedding package which comes complete with chairs, arches, music, toasting and other elements for the most complete beach wedding experience possible. But on the other side of the spectrum, the opposite side of Waialae beach features a number of little “oasis” right on the ocean. These grass areas on which rests many palm trees swaying in the trade winds. Absolutely beautiful and perfect for smaller, more intimate beach weddings. Best of all, Waialae beach is only a short 15-20 minute drive from Waikiki. Just another one of many elements that make this a great spot for a Honolulu beach wedding or vow renewal ceremony.
